Define scope and roles


  1. The organization determines that an important decision needs to be made, often initiated by the person who wants a decision made. A decision manager is assigned to run the process.

  2. They define and document the decision, then assign roles to the relevant people.

Decision data analysis


  1. The people providing the input - usually analysts or subject experts - review the decision definition.
